I really like Brokentalkers’ work. They are human, speaking about humans, now. Here, a show about a family celebrating a wedding on a beach, where a refugee suddenly appears. The costumes reflect this clash between fancy wedding splurge, charity shop clothes, and leftovers from World War II.
I extended a huge red drape above spectators' heads into the stage to express unity. The relationship between spectators and performers is a primal question.
